Hello and thank you for looking my patterns! I have designed these packs to assist the intermediate to advanced leather worker in understanding how to make professional-level gun-leather. These instructions illustrate the proper installation of a seam, or "welt" plug (where applicable), a full liner, as well as the wet mold process. These three distinctly professional steps are overlooked by many, I believe, as a result of far too many un-professional holsters mass made and marketed as if they were "best". Most of us copy what's out there to learn from, and most producers find gimmicky ways to leave the "expensive" liner out, thus setting a bad example. A liner is critical in the mold process; as a laminate, it provides strength to help the holster hold its shape and keeps it from collapsing in on itself when the gun is drawn. Think about plywood; it is much stronger than comparably dimensioned cut (single layer) lumber. The same logic applies to leather. Use these techniques and distinguish yourself as Professional Holster Maker! It is the intent of this pattern pack to teach the process, and then be a foundation for the maker's own style. I have left significant room for your creativity and design. I do recommend making at least one or two per the pack's instructions verbatim, just to familiarize yourself with the process.
